Flash is bi-monthly research on the home video consumer. Our data is
collected weekly via an unaided survey, using a methodology that has been
repeatedly proven over the last 13 years. Click

Activity throughout
the vast network of video cassette rental and purchase outlets cannot be
accurately sampled by looking at stores unless one accurately knows the
universe of rental and purchase retail outlets (a matter in which no studio
or wholesale supplier to this network can agree). Consumer activity can
be sampled because solid estimates of the consumer population are available
with representative distribution across several demographics, including
ethnicity, income, geography, and household size.
That's why Video
Flash, tested with the research directors of ad agencies on both coasts,
focuses on measures of consumer activity.

Our survey
is structured to provide reliable consumer recall of rental and purchase
activity, both nationally and at the local market level, by title (rented
or purchased) and by transacting store.

are maintained daily to provide several levels of "reality testing", new
release updates, and error correction.

Our reporting
systems emphasize timely reports to decisionmakers who need information
to help run their businesses -- studios, home video divisions, sales managers,
retailers, and business analysts, and bankers.
