Databases
The Video Flash databases are an unparalleled resource of primary,
quantitative data for the home video and interactive entertainment industries.
Using the Survey Process and additional
data gathering from industry sources, we add to six databases twice each
week:
-
The rental transactions database -- with one record for each title reported
as having been rented per week. The record includes a calendar week code
and a title code as well as transaction information.
-
The purchase transactions database -- with one record for every purchase
mention, including week and title codes as well as price paid.
-
The title database -- with one record for every title mentioned as having
been rented or purchased, including detailed home video related information
for that title (such as original release date, genre, studio, etc).
-
The rental store data base -- with one record for every rental mention
including week, title, zip, and demographic codes as well as a store name
field.
-
The store name database -- with the store name and code for every store
mentioned as an outlet by a renting or purchasing customer.
-
The industry statistics file -- contains information on VCR, cable, and
computer households including the number of each, demographics, and entertainment
activity by each category.
These databases create an inter-related web of primary research resources
that can be used to explore issues important to home video marketers, retail
store operators, and video on demand planners.
